Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Tbsp. Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt

Pizza Sauce

  • 1 Cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Oregano (dried)
  • 1 tsp. Basil (dried)
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp. Salt

Toppings

  • Cups Vegan Mozzarella Cheese
  • ½ Cup Cherry Tomatoes (sliced)
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (sliced)
  • 1 Cup Mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 Red Onion (sliced)
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

Prepare the Dough

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and mix until the dough comes together.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, you can use store-bought pizza dough. Just make sure it's vegan-friendly if you do.
  • Roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and shape on a floured surface or directly onto a pizza stone.
  • Transfer the dough onto a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.

Prepare the Sauce

  • In another bowl, mix together tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the pizza sauce.
  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Top the Pizza

  • Sprinkle vegan mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Top the pizza with sliced cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, and black olives, or any other desired toppings.

Bake and Garnish

  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
  • Enjoy your delicious homemade vegan pizza! Customize with your favorite toppings for a truly delightful meal.
